Silas Constancio

Silas Constancio is soaring into Kindergarten!   He is eager to learn and try new things, and projects are his favorite thing to do.  Silas is a respectful, honest and kind friend.  He is also a great big brother, and helps keep a good eye on his little brother during dismissal.  Thank you for being a part of our classroom and MECC family!

Wendy Cervera

Ms. Cervera is an essential member of  MECC who has been with us for two years now.  She supported kinder students last school year and will support our PK4 dual language scholars this year. Ms. Cervera is continuing her education to become a teacher in SISD. She is very loving and knowledgeable. She also displays great communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy and patience towards the SISD community. Thank you for choosing and being a part of  Menchaca and Southside ISD.

Meet the Teacher Brings Families to Menchaca for the Start of a Great Year!

On August 9th and 10th, Menchaca Early Childhood Center held 6 different Meet the Teacher sessions to accommodate our families’ schedules. We welcomed many and were excited to see our cardinals ready to start a new year! Parents finalized paperwork, picked up dismissal placards, and toured our beautiful campus.

Ms. Lizbeth Rodriguez is an aide in a PK-3 class. She is always smiling and supportive of all students. Ms. Rodriguez builds positive relationships with her students and is flexible to help whenever and wherever needed. Ms. Rodriguez is proud to have Southside cardinals of her own, too! Thank you, Ms. Rodriguez, for all you do and for your dedication to SISD/MECC.

Two Teachers Spend Time Learning at Rice University This Summer

Menchaca was honored to have two teachers, Mr. Zavala and Ms. Taylor, participate in a professional development experience at Rice University. Their work focused on implementing project-based learning which we hope to explore more for the early childhood science curriculum. The teachers enjoyed themselves and developed their skills in communication and PBL-writing and implementation that they can turn around to teachers at their campuses.

Students we do not have up-to-date records for won’t be able to start school and class placement is dependent on these.
