Alert: New Times for Menchaca ECC

Dear Menchaca Parents/Guardians,

We thank you for your patience and understanding these past three weeks as we worked closely with district administration, TxDot, SISD Police, and our transportation department  in order to work out some of the growing pains we encountered here at Menchaca.  We have listened to the concerns and have made adjustments to accommodate better start times for our students and for a smother traffic flow for the end of the day.  Please be aware beginning on September 24, 2018 the new start times for school will be as follows:

Pre-K                                                                     Kinder

Doors open at                   7:10 A.M.                                                             7:10 A.M.

Doors close at                    7:35 A.M.                                                             7:35 A.M.

Tardy bell                            7:35 A.M.                                                             7:35 A.M.

 

 

Dismissal time                   2:20 P.M.                                                             2:55 P.M.

 

Once again, beginning on Monday, September 24, 2018 students will be starting school at 7:35 A.M. and released from school at 2:20 P.M. for Pre-k and 2:55 P.M. for kindergarten.  Thank you for making accommodations for the change in schedule. Menchaca “Meet & Greet” – Wednesday August 1

All Menchaca Early Childhood Center Pre-K and Kindergarten parents are invited to attend the Menchaca “Meet & Greet” Coffee & Questions (Café con Preguntas) on Wednesday August 1, 2018.

Menchaca Early Childhood Center Campus Principal Rebecca Delgado-Herrera, Southside ISD Superintendent, SISD Board of Managers and other district representatives as well as members from the construction team will be in attendance to answer questions.

Special Message to PreK/K Parents from Menchaca Principal

Greetings Menchaca Pre-K Families,

I hope everyone is having an amazing summer. We are working hard to get ready for an amazing year at Menchaca Early Childhood Center.   Here are a few important updates on registration and school start date and times.

  1. The Head Start program has mailed their admission acceptance letters. If you did not receive one or have received a disqualification letter, please know that your child will be enrolled into the Menchaca Early Childhood Pre-K program.  Menchaca and the Head Start program will be working closely together during the year and delivering the same expectations for all Pre-K students. Remember all Southside residents will be accepted into the Pre-K program at Menchaca.
  2.  Additional Pre-K registration dates:  August 14 and 15, 2018.
  3.  The first day of school will be on Monday August 27, 2018.
  4. School times have changed for Menchaca.  Start time will be at 7:05 AM and will dismiss at  2:35 PM.
