Dear Menchaca Families,
What an exciting time it is to be a part of Southside ISD! I am honored to write this letter of introduction as the newly appointed Principal of Col. Miguel Menchaca Early Childhood Center. Thank you to Southside ISD for entrusting me to lead a campus where our youngest learners will begin their journey towards educational excellence and allowing me to be a part of this great community.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for eighteen years and have worked with a variety of students ranging in ages early childhood through fifth grade; as well as mentoring college students who wish to become teachers and administrators. During this time, my husband of twenty-six years, Bobby, and I have raised three wonderful kids. Our son Danny is a member of the San Antonio PD. Our daughter Stephanie is a college sophomore, and our son Erik will start high school this fall. My family has come a long way from our days in El Paso, Texas and I am sure you will get the pleasure of meeting them soon.
This school year we will embark on a new opportunity to serve Southside’s early childhood students inside a state of the art campus. I am eager to bring my leadership skills to Menchaca and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success. I look forward to working with families and community members in bringing the 21st century leadership skills that reflect our ever changing economic demands. We will build strong student, parent, and staff relationships that will last a lifetime and have our students ready for their next step in their education. We will strive to make Menchaca Early Childhood Center a model campus for all of early childhood centers in the state of Texas!
Once again, I am thankful for this amazing opportunity Southside has given me and I look forward to seeing everyone on the first day of school August 27, 2018.
