Managing Severe Allergies in the School Setting
The following information is for teachers, parents and students on how to manage severe allergies in the school setting. People can be severely allergic to a variety of things including foods (peanuts, dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts like almonds and pecans, wheat, and soy) and non-foods (i.e. bees, wasps, ants, latex, cold, pollens, weeds, and trees).
Some topics included are videos on what allergies are, how to manage the classroom, understanding bullying, and how to use emergency medications. Forms needed for school can be found under Health Services section in the “All School Health Forms” tab or in the QuickLinks on the right side of this page. Please see the school nurse for further information regarding the individualized care of each student.
