Book Character Parade (1st-5th)
Every Gallardo scholar is encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character or decorate a pumpkin as a character from their favorite book.
In order for your scholar to participate, they must bring in the book associated with their costume and be able to answer questions about the book from school teachers and administration.
Families are welcome to attend. Please park in the back basketball court parking lot, bring your lawn chair and find a comfy spot lining any one of our three playgrounds. All students will circle around two times and head back to class to complete the school day.
Early checkouts will begin after the parade has been completed.
Character costumes should be simple, fun, and educational, and should stay away from anything violent or scary (no play weapons or masks).
Pumpkin Project (alternate activity)
In lieu of dressing up, students can decorate a pumpkin as their favorite book character and walk with it during the parade. Students should be able to answer the following questions;
*Describe your character: what do they look and act like?
*Why do you like this character?
*What did this character do in the story? Did they solve any problems or learn something new?
