Keep calm and ask our Librarian!! Gallardo’s Staff Cardinal Spotlight of the month is none other than Rebecca Cortez. Mrs. Cortez has not only been selected for being a guru for leading students to the “perfect book” to read, but has also been nominated for her many acts of service for the Gallardo community. Mrs. Cortez has continuously supported campus-wide literacy initiatives, including our most recent March Madness Reading Competition. The Gallardo community is especially grateful for Mrs. Cortez willingness to lend a helping hand and assist whenever and wherever additional support is needed with campus operations. She supervises our campus technology needs and ensures that educators and students have what they need to be successful in the classroom. We are so grateful for the incredible work Mrs. Cortez contributes at Gallardo Elementary. We couldn’t be more proud and excited to name her as our VIP for the month of April.
Malachi Ortegon has been nominated and selected as our first-grade Cardinal VIP of the month. He has been an outstanding student since the first day of school. Each day he arrives with a smile on his face, a morning greeting, and ready to learn and help in the classroom. Malachi is always working hard, completing assignments, does his homework each week, and shows respect for the classroom, the rules, and those around him. He makes sure to include his fellow classmates during recess and helps those that need assistance or guidance when working on activities. We are very proud to name him Cardinal VIP in first grade.
