Mrs. Carolina Cortez is our phenomenal bilingual aide at Gallardo. Mrs. Cortez has a cheerful and positive spirit and advocates wholeheartedly for her students. She puts care in everything she does and goes above and beyond to ensure that they receive the best learning experiences. She has a “get it done” personality and steps up continuously to adapt to our campus needs. She is a tremendous advocate for our emerging bilingual students and our students receiving special education services. She is flexible, adaptive to the needs of students, and able to differentiate instruction for our Gallardo scholars. She is willing to learn curriculum, dive in with grade-level teams to understand how to target instructional needs, and plan with many departments. In addition to the immense capacity she serves as an instructional leader, Mrs. Cortez plays a tremendous role in supporting the day-to day operations of the school. Every morning she greets our students and parents with excitement, is available to support our covid testing system, assists our students with end-of-day procedures, and so much more. We are fortunate to have her at Gallardo and are excited that she is this week’s Cardinal Spotlight.
