Our students arrive ready to learn and design a high-interest, creative art project every week. Sometimes students are thinking as engineers and designing buildings. Other times, they think like scientists and build parts of the skeletal system. Jennifer Barrow, our phenomenal art teacher at Gallardo Elementary, creates these experiences and many more for our artists. Ms. Barrow provides our Gallardo artists with fun and exciting opportunities that enrich their lives. Students develop a holistic understanding of art by connecting it to many contents. She enrolls them in contests to showcase their art skills, introduces them to a wide range of artistic styles, and exposes them to many artists that spark their interests. Art is more than what she does; it is who she is. If Bob Ross himself thought of an artist that inspires him, we are sure Mrs. Barrow would be that artist. We are excited for her to be this week’s cardinal spotlight and love all she does to support our scholars.
