Headline/Title: Freedom’s Academic Dean

As we strive to improve Academics in our schools, Southside ISD elementary schools have added the position of Academic Dean to all their campuses.  This is an administrative position that requires experience and knowledge in instructional practices along with leadership qualifications.  Freedom Elementary is proud to promote within as we have named Ms. Selina Puente as our new Freedom Elementary Academic Dean.  Ms. Puente shared a few words saying that, “I am proud to be a Freedom Cardinal and excited to be Freedom’s first Academic Dean. I have been at Freedom for 5 years, most recently as the Assistant Principal. I am a resident of Southside ISD. I have 2 daughters, Lauren who is an 8th grader at Matthey and Juliana who is a 2nd grader at Freedom. I look forward to continuing our hard work as we move Freedom forward. Proud to be a part of the Freedom Family!” We are very lucky and proud to have Ms, Puente as well. It’s going to be a great year.

Headline/Title: Welcome to the Freedom Family

With Mrs. Puente shifting to her new role as our Academic Dean we have a new Assistant Principal here at Freedom Elementary.  We are excited to welcome our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Kristy Pena.  From the moment Mrs. Pena entered the doors here at Freedom, she has not skipped a beat.  She has hit the ground running! Mrs. Pena shared a few words saying, “I am excited to join the Freedom Elementary Family as the new Assistant Principal. I have been in education for 14 years. My husband is an educator as well. We have one daughter, Olivia, who is an 8th grader. I look forward to working towards a successful year!”  Welcome to Southside and to Freedom Mrs. Pena.  We look forward to working with you as well.  We are One! Dream. Believe. Succeed.
