Ingrid Palacios is always willing to share her resources to assist in student success. She is a wonderful teacher and the students love working with her. Mrs. Palacios gives her whole self to teaching her students. As she prepares for her instruction, she podners how her students will respond to each lesson. She strives to be proactive and plan according to their needs and learning styles. All while building strong relationships with each of her students.
Kevin Salinas is a great leader. He was a great example of patrol. Kevin was always ready to deliver wagons coming off the bus. He would report to his hallway duty on his assigned day. He was always following the expectations of the hallway. He would ask for Freedom bucks to give to the students who were following hallway expectations.
Brenda. Barajas is a wonderful counselor who shares her wisdom, grace, and love with us all. She willingly goes above and beyond without being asked all with a glowing smile and warm heart. She establishes great relationships with our students, community and staff. Her communication with our students, community and staff has empowered anyone who wants to speak with her to do so openly and honestly. She makes it a point to ensure that all of our social and emotional needs are met and does it with such a positive attitude. Mrs Barajas is caring and compassionate toward everyone she encounters. She makes our campus shine brighter just by being there.
Ricky Gonzales was a great patrol last year as a 4th grader. Ricky always had a smile on his face in the morning. As soon as he got off the bus he wasted no time getting into the cafeteria to start delivering breakfast wagons. He was fast but safe at the same time. He would also fulfill his hallway duties with a sense of pride and honor. He is a great student who works hard and strives for success. His hobbies include playing basketball, soccer, and football.
Mrs. Saenz rejoined our Freedom Family with enthusiasm and a smile. She is a hard worker and not afraid to jump right into tasks. She truly has a servant’s heart. It doesn’t matter what you need or who you are, she is ready to help in any way she can. She is willing to assist in any capacity, communicates well with students, community and staff and has an infectious positive attitude.
We are very proud of our 4th Grade students James Diaz. James is in our Dual Language program and last year joined our Student Leadership Group, Jr. Lighthouse. Teachers and staff would describe James as a great student who is reserved and quiet, but always enjoyed learning and working with his peers. He is respectful and is always willing to put in the work to get the job done. Joining a group, like Jr. Lighthouse, was a little outside his comfort zone. But through this organization, he gained confidence to speak in front of others and has really flourished. James loves to be of help to others and we appreciate his willingness to show compassion and help others.
When it comes to school, Maggie Navarro does not mess around. She takes her learning very seriously and strives to be her best at all times. Maggie was a first grader this past year at Freedom Elementary. The teachers and staff describe Maggie as a natural leader who is always up for a challenge. Maggie is very inquisitive and does not hesitate to ask questions to better her understanding. She is an eager learner who truly enjoys the learning process. She loves reading and science. She loves being with her friends and teacher. Her hobbies include swimming, playing with her sister and cousin, and enjoys visiting her Grandmother. Congratulations Maggie! Keep up the great work!
Anna Galindo was our BASE unit teacher this year. She made it a priority to address her students’ social and emotional needs by building strong relationships with them. She developed a very unique relationship with each of the students she worked with which enabled her to help them move forward both academically and socially. She constantly communicated with her students’ parents and would go out of her way to make sure that they had their instructional materials during the last nine weeks by either meeting the parents at school or at a neutral site if the parents could not make it to school.
Maya Bueno has been an amazing student in our 3rd grade Dual Language class here at Freedom Elementary. She is such a positive light in our school. Mr. Perez, her teacher says, “Maya is a hard working student. She is meticulous and makes sure her work is complete and correct.” He goes on to say, “She is friendly and well liked by her peers.” Maya also showed strong leadership skills. She was an active member of our Jr. Lighthouse Student Leadership group. Maya’s personal hobbies include, dance, bike riding, soccer, and watching movies. Congratulations on being our Cardinal of the week!
Helen Guy is an awesome team player, she is always willing to lend a helping hand, goes above and beyond for her coworkers, students, and parents. She is truly passionate about serving special education students and goes above and beyond to ensure that her students’ social emotional and academic needs are met. She consistently communicates with her students’ parents and their general education teachers so that everyone is aware of how the students are performing and behaving. During the COVID period, she went out of her way to provide food for one of her students’ families who did not have transportation to the Food Bank and they were so appreciative!
Noah Flores has been an outstanding student here at Freedom Elementary. He is smart, kind, helpful, and so fun to be around. He is a very hard worker who loves to read. You often see him with a book in his hand. Noah’s teachers describe him as a model student and admire his ability to challenge himself and work through whatever problem comes his way. In his free time Noah enjoys soccer, swimming, and skating. During this pandemic he enjoyed learning in the comfort of his own home and doing things at his own pace. Noah says this opportunity to stay home and work allowed him to see what it would be like as a teenager and having to grow your own study habits. Noah has always seen the positive side of every situation. His friends are drawn to his ability to compromise and think win win. He is an outstanding leader and we couldn’t be more proud of him.
Ms. Jones has a passion for learning and teaching! She is student focused and her knowledge and expertise in effective teaching strategies and research based practices has made such a huge contribution to developing our teachers’ expertise which has impacted student achievement. She has worked diligently with our staff to help improve instruction and learning, so that we ensure our students get what they need to be academically successful. She demonstrates a high level of integrity and when obstacles come up, she is relentless to work through the problem in the best interest of students and teachers. dedicated to helping teachers and students be greater than they already are. She is such a great advocate for our kids and teachers! We are blessed to have her on our team!
Manuel has been an outstanding scholar here at Freedom Elementary. He works hard and is very determined to do well academically. What also stands out about Manuel is his willingness to help others. Whether it be his classmates, teachers, or other staff on campus, he is always ready to lend a helping hand. He has been in various student organizations such as Safety Patrols, and this year he was an active member of our Jr. Lighthouse Student group. He enjoys math the most and has been found doing math problems for fun during lunch. In his free time he enjoys things like playing video games and swimming. He also enjoys spending time with his family as they often do many things together. Keep up the great work Manuel!
Ms. Snider has done an outstanding job with creating an engaging and interactive Google Classroom for the Specials Team. She has served as the team leader and has demonstrated a passion for the fine arts. Being a former general education classroom teacher has enabled her to integrate content into the art activities which has been evidenced by the lessons that she teaches. The art projects that she has had the students participate in have not only showcased her talent, but also that of the students. She posts their work around the school and ensures that our students have opportunities to participate in community art contests. She’s a GREAT art teacher!
