AS A NEW HIRE, WHEN AM I ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS? Expand

As a new hire, you are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following your date of hire with the district.

For Example: If you are hired on 08/02, you are eligible for insurance on 09/01.

You have 30 days from your date of hire to make your benefit selections. Please take time to thoroughly review the plans so that you don't miss your opportunity to add valuable benefits that can assist you and your family in a time of need.

Southside ISD works with Robinson - Barrett Insurance to ensure that all eligible employees enroll into benefits. Even if you plan on declining your benefits, you will still need to make that declaration for ACA reporting purposes. You will also need to add a beneficiary to your district-paid life insurance plan.

Once your new hire window to select benefits closes, you can only make changes (add or drop coverage/s) during the district's annual open enrollment period, or if you experience a qualifying event.
