Credit by Exam (CBE)

Credit by exam (with prior instruction) is an option for students who have had prior formal instruction and have not earned credit for one or more courses. Students with previous instruction must score at least a 70 % on the exam to earn credit.

Credit by exam (without prior instruction/acceleration) is an option for students who have not had prior formal instruction in a grade level or subject. Students without previous instruction must score at least an 80 % on the exam to advance a grade level or earn credit.

• Students must be registered in a Southside ISD school and attending in order to be eligible to test.
• Registration must go through your child's campus counselor and/or testing coordinator.
• The student may obtain an application from the campus counselor and/or testing coordinator.
