Southside ISD students were honored at the first annual STEAM celebration and Globey Awards. Globaloria game design students received Globey awards for excellence in game design. STEAM programs from Losoya, Matthey and the High School showcased projects such as robotics, electric houses, and artwork.

Students and parents at Losoya Intermediate School participated in the National Day of Prayer rememberance. Sixth grader Christavella Arredondo led students and their parents in prayer around the school's flag pole. SISD Police Officer Melissa Arredondo organized the voluntary event.

Pearce Primary School celebrated Cinco de Mayo by crowning a king, queen, prince, princess, duke and duchess.
