Southside ISD partner Alamo Colleges announced today that Palo Alto College is ranked in the top one percent of all community colleges in the country. Southside ISD continues to partner with Palo Alto College for our dual credit, Early College High School, and certificate programs. Congratulations to our own Palo Alto College!

Gallardo Elementary music students will hold a FREE concert on Thursday, May 17 at 6:00 p.m. in the Southside High School auditorium. The Gallardo Percussion Group and the Gallardo Folklorico will perform with a special performance by the Southside High School Mariachi.

The Texas Art Education Association sponsors the Texas Elementary Art Meet, which is held by regions to allow students to be recognized for their creative efforts in art. Losoya Intermediate 5th grader Cristine Farias took top honors and captured 1st place at the Superhero Art Contest. A total of 66 students participated in this year’s event held at the Centro Cultural Aztlan Gallery on Fredericksburg Road.  

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg honored two Southside High School Mayor’s Fitness Council student ambassadors Savanna Rodriguez and Klarissa Mejia. The pair along with campus mentors Matthew Stoddard and Steve Iredale received accolades for their work on a community garden.
