At Southside ISD, we believe continued progress depends on a strong partnership among our Board of Trustees, Superintendent, staff, families, and community. As part of our commitment to Lone Star Governance, we want our community to understand the commitments that guide the work of the Board and Superintendent. These constraints provide clear expectations and help keep our focus on student success, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Board Constraints
• Board members, individually or collectively, shall not direct staff about operational matters.
• Board members shall come prepared to engage in Board work.
Superintendent Constraints
• The Superintendent will not allow any campus to have a D or F state rating.
• The Superintendent shall not allow high-needs campuses to have inequitable access to experienced and effective staff.
These commitments promote clear roles, transparency, and accountability. Most importantly, they help ensure that our decisions remain focused on providing every Southside ISD student with the opportunity to succeed. Our progress is a shared responsibility.
