This weekend, March 28th, the Southside High School Red Jackets Dance Team competed at the Crowd Pleasers Texas Nationals Competition in the Small Classic High School division, and they delivered an incredible performance!
The RJDT earned the following awards:
1st Place – Contemporary (a first in RJDT history!)
1st Place – High Kick
2nd Place – Hip Hop
3rd Place Overall in their division
In addition, all three routines received “Best in Class” honors, scoring 90+ from all four judges!
Their contemporary piece, “Amor Eterno: A Message to Grandpa,” also earned the “Outstanding Choreography” award from every judge. This powerful routine was choreographed by Mrs. Saenz as a heartfelt tribute to her late grandfather, Ernest Trevino.
