Southside ISD proudly celebrates Chef Angel Machado and our talented High School Culinary Arts students for their outstanding achievement at the 2026 Paella Challenge! Competing against 17 high schools and more than 155 students, the team earned an impressive 3rd place finish with their creative and flavorful Korean BBQ Paella paired with a refreshing Watermelon-Lemon Refresher.
After claiming back-to-back 1st place titles in previous years, this continued success speaks volumes about their consistency, innovation, and passion for the culinary arts. Their ability to blend bold flavors with technical skill truly sets them apart.
