We’ve partnered with The Children’s Shelter to bring more resources and support to our community!
This program is open to SISD guardians of a child between the ages of 0 and 5. Whether you’re a grandparent, single parent, foster parent, soon-to-be parent, or a loved one, we encourage you to come to the classes, meet with others in similar situations, and learn something new!
The Children’s Shelter provides training and support for guardians on how to become their best selves, for their sake and for their children.
This program is a free seven-week parenting course that helps guardians:
- Identify the purposes of children’s behavior, from their random outbursts to their curiosity.
- Learn how to encourage cooperative behavior.
- Figure out how to approach unacceptable behaviors.
- And more!
Be sure to join us for the first session on February 23rd at 11am in Menchaca ECC’s family room to be entered into a drawing to win family ticket passes to an amusement park!
Please note this program is a 7-week commitment for an hour, and the organization asks for families to attend all sessions with no add-ons after the first session.
Light snacks will be available, but feel free to bring your own. Non-school-age children are also welcome we will have small activities set up for them.
