This year, Southside ISD partnered with Healing The Children, a nonprofit whose Texas chapter is led by Dr. Roberto Fajardo, a UIW professor supported by his UIW medical students. Together with the Communications Department, the team organized the Southside ISD Toy Drive by gathering student information, creating wish lists based on their interests, and sharing the event with the community. Every effort was made to ensure that no student would go without a toy this holiday season.
Thanks to Healing The Children, more than one hundred toys were donated, allowing many of our selected students to receive more than one surprise. The generosity of donors will bring joy and excitement to our students and their families.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Fajardo, his medical students, Healing The Children, our campus social workers, school counselors, and all who helped make this opportunity possible.
We look forward to continuing this partnership and building a tradition that brightens holidays for years to come.
