Learn How You Can Be Involved

Family Involvement Form - Parent Recruitment

Families, are you interested in being more involved in the district and learning more about how you can make your voice heard?

We’ve created a form for you to sign up for committees that the district hosts. We have five groups total that you can choose from, each with different interests and experiences needed.

  • School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) – This committee reviews child nutrition menus, physical education policies, sex education, and overall maintains a healthy community. SHAC assists the districts in ensuring that local community values are reflected in the health education instruction. Learn more about SHAC here
  • District Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC) – This committee, also known as a District Parent Committee, establishes and reviews the District Improvement plan, Parent and Family Engagement policy, educational goals, and major District-wide classroom instructional programs.
  • Fiscal Integrity Committee – Review the District’s financial reports, federal grants, and purchasing practices.
  • Communications Committee – Reviews and provides feedback on the Communications Department’s website, stories, videos, etc. (In-Person Only)
  • Campus Improvement Committees – Review the School-Parent Compacts, campus improvement plans, etc. (your child/children’s campuses only)

These committees provide a great space for families to share their thoughts, ideas, and opinions on specific areas within the district.

Interested in joining a committee or sharing your experience? Use the form link here

Please note that joining a committee does not require a huge time commitment. A majority of the committees meet every few months and ask for your opinions, thoughts, and suggestions. Meetings are usually held in the evening or at a convenient time.

Showing interest does not guarantee your acceptance into the committee.
