Matthey Middle School is celebrating an outstanding achievement after earning a “B” rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for 2024, along with all seven possible distinction designations.
The campus received recognition in the following areas:
- Academic Achievement in Reading/Language Arts
- Academic Achievement in Mathematics
- Academic Achievement in Science
- Academic Achievement in Social Studies
- Top 25% Comparative Academic Growth
- Postsecondary Readiness
- Top 25% Comparative Closing the Gaps
Principal Miguel Martell said this accomplishment is a testament to the dedication of both staff and students. “I’m proud of Matthey for reaching all seven distinctions,” he shared. “This validates the hard work of our teachers and students. Our goal is to continue on this path, study the data, and provide students with the support they need to become an A-rated campus while maintaining all seven distinctions.”
