SAN ANTONIO — Per KENS5: Earl Stoudemire: More than 5,500 students have their lunch packed up and their backpacks ready to go for the first day of school in Southside ISD, and nearly 1,000 teachers are in the district ready to help the students succeed.
Parents need to be up bright and early because the doors are opening at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday for class to start at 7:10 a.m.
The standardized dress code colors are red, black and white and your kids can wear them in a solid t-shirt or a polo shirt.
A lot of Pre-K and kindergarteners are going to be running through the hallways for a lot of fun and learning.
To keep learning a top priority, Southside ISD wants every student to follow their rule for the state-wide ban on cellphones in the classrooms.
Southside ISD says students can bring their phones, tablets, smart watches to school, but they have to be kept in their backpacks at all times during school hours.
Teachers or administrators can take them from you if they are removed from backpacks.
