Education Foundations from all over the San Antonio area united to work on creating a special day to promote public schools, the San Antonio Area Public School Education Foundations Day. Although there are many other recognitions in the public school realm, from public school teacher appreciation to our bus drivers, no day was dedicated to unifying the entire industry. Now we have yet another great day, May 15th, to promote the amazing work our public school educators do for the city’s future.
The foundations were looking for ways to advocate for our schools in a way that is unique to what we are already doing, which includes fundraising and supporting events and programs. This is an opportunity for Education Foundations to advocate for all the great work our public schools do in a new and powerful space. Once the Mayor of San Antonio, Ron Nirenberg, read aloud the proclamation, city council members joined him in praising the work our educators do every day.
