On May 16th, numerous students competed at the Regional Spanish Spelling Bee at Region 20. Our participants at each level put up a great fight. Both our elementary and secondary participants were able to avoid getting eliminated until after at least half of their peers were. We’re excited to share that our participant from Southside Highschool, Linda Figueroa Castenanos is the first Southside ISD student to place in the HS grade band. She received a trophy & $150 for her 2nd place accomplishment.
