It’s not everyday that the Superintendent knocks on your door. But that’s what happened today with grandparents raising grandchildren and some of the district’s families in-need. They received a surprise from teams of district administrators who showed up with a Thanksgiving surprise. Thanks to district partners Amerigroup and Conviva Care Centers who provided 75 families Southside ISD families with turkeys. Many parents became emotional when district administrators delivered the turkeys. Parent Amanda Ramos said, “You never block a blessing. Sometimes we’re in positions that we may not understand, but only God knows why he has us where he has us.” The District’s partners are planning an even larger event next year.
