Thanks to the help and compassion of Southside students, teachers, staff, neighbors and even business partners we were all able to help the community of Uvalde. Southside administrators and counselors and bus drivers delivered approximately 700 bags of social/emotional wellness bags for students and staff from Uvalde’s Robb Elementary. The Southside Education Foundation also donated $6100 for the victims’ families and teachers. During the visit, Uvalde Superintendent Dr. Hal Harrell stopped by to thank the Southside ISD team and community for its efforts. Thanks also to Texas A&M University-San Antonio for collecting and contributing supplies. The Uvalde tragedy occurred on Tuesday, May 24 when a gunman entered Robb Elementary School and killed 19 children and two adults.
