Southside Pitches In to Help Uvalde’s Robb Elementary School

A Southside ISD school bus will carry items to students and families of Uvalde's Robb Elementary School.

Southside ISD teachers, parents, students, and community members are mobilizing to help Uvalde’s students, teachers, and families from Robb Elementary School. Southside ISD is stepping in to assist after a gunman killed 19 students at two teachers at the Uvalde school on May 24. The Southside ISD Student Services department along with the District’s Southside ISD Education Foundation is spearheading a drive to provide up to 600 bags filled with therapeutic toys and snacks to the Uvalde School. “At a time like this, we want to show our support for the Uvalde CISD community,” said Alejandra Gallego, Southside ISD student services coordinator. Anyone wishing to contribute should bring  the following items:

  • Play Dough
  • Stress Balls
  • Coloring Books
  • Markers
  • Color Pencils
  • Pop Its
  • Throw Blankets
  • Activity Books
  • Fidget Toys
  • Sensory Rings
  • Pop It Ball Fidget Toys
  • Weighted Blankets
  • Snacks – Chips, Cheez-Its, Kool-Aid Jammers, Fruit Snacks, Capri Suns, Cookies, Fruit Roll-Ups
  • Fun Books
  • Bubbles
  • Arts and Crafts Kits
  • Essential Oils
  • Aroma Therapy sprays, creams, candles, etc.

Donations to the Southside ISD Education Foundation

  • Meditation and Prayer Guide Books

Deliver to the district’s Central Office located at 1460 Martinez Losoya Road. Donations will be accepted through Monday, June 6 until  4:30 p.m.
