( San Antonio, TX) –  On May 10th, the Tejano Music Recording Academy (TMRA) invited local recording artists, Tejano stars, and media to help announce a more than seven thousand dollar donation to the Southside High School Conjunto group Los Cardenales. The class received a Hohner Accordion and Ymagen bajo sexto guitar!  Ms. Anna Bustamente is credited with creating the first conjunto high school program in San Antonio here at Southside High School.  TMRA President Francisco Chapa thanked Ms. Bustamante and Southside for teaching new generations of students the art of Conjunto and for introducing the Tejano music genre to young people.  Jesse Turner, a two-time Premios Tejano Mundial Male Vocal Performance of the Year Winner, reminded students that they are the industry’s future.  Along with several other artists, he encouraged everyone there to invest in the genre and keep the music alive.  TMRA sees the donation as an investment in Southside and a testament to the outstanding achievements of the program.  Also in attendance were students from the Conjunto class, Board Manager Mary Silva, Superintendent Rolando Ramirez, Assistant Superintendent Miguel Castillo, Ms. Anna Bustament, and members of TMRA.  Felicidades a Los Cardenales !!!
