Southside High School senior Isabella Carvajal beat out more than 300 students from 33 high schools to win the Fiesta Battle of Flowers Art Contest. Her winning piece, “Viva Las Flores”, will be printed on the cover of 10,000 Battle of Flowers Band Festival Programs in April. Isabella is in Mrs. Christina Robinson’s advanced placement (AP) art class.
