(San Antonio, TX) – Congratulations to the Southside ISD District Teacher of the Year! This year’s winner is Heritage Elementary School 5th grade teacher Ms.Terrena Bernal. Ms. Bernal won a $3000 prize and is now eligible for the distinguished Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching. She was selected by a committee that chose her out of three finalists. The other finalists were; Claudia Emeric from Losoya Middle School and Ms. Gina Schorsch from Matthey Middle School. All the campus winners received a cash prize for being selected by their respective campuses along with a trophy and a personalized gift from the SISD Education Foundation.
