Bus drivers in the Southside ISD have been honored for the flawless safety record for transporting the District’s students. Superintendent Mr. Rolando Ramirez said, “For the students who ride the bus, you are the first ones to welcome our students in the mornings and to say goodbye when they are dropped off at home in the afternoons. Thank you and keep up the great work!” Menchaca Early Childhood Center Couselor Dr. Melanie Morgan says her students love one of their bus drivers; Justo Ledesma. Dr. Morgan wrote that it’s too easy to be critical and to complain. However, she said, bus driver Mr. Ledesma goes above and beyond for students. ” He knows every student by name, and he always offers them pre-packaged snacks as they get off the bus to make sure their needs are met. I have never seen him without a smile, a hearty laugh, and just has super fun with his job! Most importantly our kids LOVE him,” Dr. Morgan said.
