Letter from the Superintendent – April 19, 2021

Parents,

A lockdown was called at Pearce, Losoya Middle School, and Southside High School at noon today. We were informed at about 11:45 a.m. that there was camera footage in our system’s recording of some unusual movement in a room at Pearce Elementary that showed blinds moving and lights turned on by a sensor. At the time we did not know if it was caused by one of our employees. As a precautionary measure, a lockdown was called. Our police department inspected the area and they found no signs of anyone in that area. At that time, the lockdown was lifted.

Please know that the safety and security of our students and staff is a priority. We will keep parents informed related to the fire. Once we have permission from the county to release an update we will do so. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire at Pearce Elementary remains under investigation by the Bexar County Fire Marshal’s office. If you have any questions please feel to reach us at 210-882-1600. Thank you.
