Students in the Southside Independent School District have a chance to win $100 for their classroom plus receive an Amazon Fire 7″ tablet.
All campuses will receive 100 plastic pumpkins. The pumpkin character decoration can be done by students individually or in groups of two where each student is assigned a specific task. Students must do the following:
- Decorate the pumpkin showcasing their favorite book.
- Write a one-page summary of the book selected. The student summary must explain why the book is his or her favorite book.
- Present it to the class.
The top pumpkin winner in each grade level will be displayed in the hallway. District staff will judge the pumpkins on October 30 and select the best pumpkin display per grade level district-wide. The winning classes will receive $100 for classroom supplies. The winning student or team per grade level (only one per grade level district-wide) receive an Amazon Fire 7″ tablet (limit two per team).
