Texas A&M-San Antonio honors Gallardo Elem. classroom

Texas A&M University-San Antonio surprised students in Ms. Priscilla Ortegon’s 5th-grade classroom at Gallardo Elementary. The university named the students and their teacher the Aspire Classroom of the Month. Southside ISD Superintendent Mr. Rolando Ramirez thanked the University for honoring the work of teachers in the District. Texas A&M University-San Antonio President Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson encouraged the students to continue doing well in their studies and added, “We want you to join us when you go to college.” The University mascot, General the Jaguar, went around the classroom and high-fived students in Ms. Ortegon’s class. Southside ISD is the first school district chosen to receive this award.
