Samantha Lopez is the Cardinal Spotlight teacher of the week. Mrs. Lopez is our CTE department chair and teaches coding to our 7th and 8th-grade students. During the last several years Mrs. Lopez’s commitment to Matthey has included participating in the rigorous Project Lead the Way coding summer training two summers in a row and achieving an additional certification so that our students can earn high school credit. Mrs. Lopez is an integral member of the leadership team and she provides great guidance to our CTE department.Jacob Lott is a 7th-grade student at Matthey Middle School. Jacob actively participates in the art class google meets, every day. He is proud to show off his art skills to his fellow classmates. He also engages in-class conversations, especially when the conversation is about superheroes. Jacob greets every person in the google meet with a warm smile and a wave. He also makes sure to tell all his classmates goodbye at the end of every google meet.
