(San Antonio, TX) – Heather Thatcher, LMSW, a social worker at Southside ISD, was selected to be a presenter at the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth (NAEHCY) Conference 2020. This is a national conference that will be held on October 5th through October 9th. According to NAEHCY, “Each year NAEHCY brings together those who, on a daily basis, work closely with homeless children and youth. Through a series of keynote addresses, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities, the NAEHCY conference is the only conference of its kind and boasts an attendance of more than 1,300 professionals.”
The presentation is entitled, “The Identification of Homeless Families and Associated Risk Factors”. This workshop will review multiple stressors as it relates to homelessness. In addition, it will address protective factors that provide positive outcomes for children and parents.
NAEHCY staff extended their congratulations and enthusiasm for the proposal. They stated that they “are so excited to share this virtual conference with you! It is an honor having you (Heather Thatcher, LMSW) present, and we are so happy you will be with us.”
