Southside Cardinals Youth Sports, formerly known as Southside Cardinals Pop Warner, is a non-profit sports organization for ages 4 through 12 years. Southside Cardinals Youth Sports provides local youth with an opportunity to learn and develop their skills in football and cheerleading each year. Many former football players and cheerleaders have continued playing or cheering in middle school as well as high school. A handful of former football players have even gone on to play at the college level. Southside Cardinals Youth Sports does not focus solely on teaching these kids a sport, the organization believes that academics, character building, and community service are crucial in developing leaders of tomorrow. Participants are encouraged to keep up with school work and represent themselves, their family, the organization, and the community with pride. Southside Cardinals Youth Sports, with the help of our participants and parents, has been active in helping with community toy drives, food pantry donations, along with providing food boxes to several families in the community. The Southside Cardinals Youth Sports Scholarship is available to all senior athletes or cheerleaders. This year, the organization was able to award four scholarships: Alyssa Gonzales-$300, Alyssa Herrera-$500, Hailee Morales-$300, and Kristen Traeger-$500. The scholarships will be sent to the colleges of their choice. These young ladies were not only athletes but each took pride in their academics, demonstrated strong leadership, and has participated in serving the community. These young ladies personify Cardinal Strong, Cardinal Proud!
