Dear Southside ISD Families:

This letter is to inform you that the 2020 Census count has been extended. As such, all families have until October 31, 2020 to respond.

The 2020 Census remains critical, as a complete and accurate count will determine the number of our state’s representatives in the U.S. Congress and how more than $675 billion in federal funds are distributed each year into communities for the next ten years.

Here is what at stake: State and Federal funding of all School Districts, National School Lunch Program, CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), emergency management and COVID-19 response, disaster relief programs, new roads, HUD housing programs and more.

Southside ISD families go to www.2020Census.gov to complete the Census questionnaire online or call (844) 330-2020, or (844) 468-2020 for Spanish. A live Census employee will assist with the questionnaire. The Census Bureau also supports response in 12 other languages at the call centers and online. Keep in mind, the census questionnaire has only nine questions and responding is easy, safe, and secure.

Call on me to support your schools’ 2020 Census outreach efforts.
