Cardinal Spotlight Week of June 26: Pearce Elementary School

4

Brenda Castillo, 4th grade teacher at Pearce Elementary, always seeks opportunities to be a leader on our team. She works diligently to provide lessons and activities that support the learners in her classroom. She is currently a member of our SISD Curriculum Writing team. Dedicated to her work during COVID-19, Brenda helped create Choice Boards for students in our district and maintained consistent online communication with her students through Google Classroom. Brenda maintains communication with her students in frequent Google Hangout meetings since school let out for the summer. She is as lovely as the llamas that she loves and we are proud that she has been a Southside Cardinal for 13 years. Brenda, we applaud your hard work and all that you are for our Southside community.

Future 2nd grade student, Selah Vela, is a kind, responsible, and honest individual. She works hard to accomplish all tasks given to her. She always goes above and beyond the expectations for classwork, behavior, and participation. Her fun-loving personality makes her a friend on the playground, a teacher’s helper, and an excellent role model. We appreciate Selah’s attendance, citizenship, and academic work ethics. Have a phenomenal Summer Break, Selah, you’ve earned it!
