District’s Kym Rapier Food Pantry receives appliances

The Southside ISD Kym Rapier Food Pantry has received generous appliances from significant business organizations. WellMed donated a commercial refrigerator and Castro Community Insurance Agency donated a commercial freezer to the District’s food pantry. The stainless steel appliances will be used to help feed the estimated 3,000 people who are coming monthly to receive food donations. Unless otherwise posted, food is distributed on the second and fourth Saturday’s of the month from the pantry located at Pearce Elementary School. The food pantry is open only to residents who live within the Southside ISD boundary. In 2019, philanthropist Kym Rapier established the food pantry with a $100,000 donation to help the Southside community. If your organization would like to volunteer or donate food, contact Director of Public Relations/Community Engagement Mr. Randy Escamilla at 210-882-1600 EXT. 5125 or by email at: randy.escamilla@southsideisd.org.
