Southside ISD receives $100,000 donation to open food pantry

Superintendent Mark E. Eads recieves a $100,000 check that will be used to feed the Southside ISD community.

Founder Kym Rapier of the The Blake, Kymberly and George Rapier Charitable Trust has donated $100,000 to Southside ISD to establish the Kym Rapier Food Pantry. Superintendent of Schools Mark E. Eads accepted the donation during a ceremony announcing the generous gift. The food pantry will be housed at Pearce Elementary and serve the district. Families in the Southside ISD community will be able to get needed food at the pantry. Counselors, social workers, and administrators will now be able to provide food to hungry children and families. The pantry is scheduled to open by December 1, 2018.
