Sheriff Javier Salazar talks Halloween safety at Southside ISD

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar came to Southside ISD’s Freedom Elementary on Friday, October 12, to prepare our students for Halloween. During his visit, the sheriff talked about safety tips during the popular cultural holiday. The sheriff also served as a cheerleader for Southside’s children, encouraging them to really do well in school, perform at their highest level, and aim to be the best. The Sheriff also told students that enjoying raisins is a healthier alternative to eating so much Halloween candy. One student asked Sheriff Salazar if he could help the district obtain a grocerystore. He responded, “I know a lot of people and I will do all I can to help you get a grocery store here at Southside.” Sheriff Salazar came to Southside ISD at the invitation of Forward In Fitness, a non-profit sponsored by founder Kim Villa.
