Southside High School offers health careers certifications

Southside High School’s health careers program is excellent and recognized by KSAT 12. Students are able to receive certifications in phlebotomy, patient care, pharmacy technician, medical billing and coding, first aid and CPR, sterile products and aseptic training, and OSHA. Students who receive these certifications are able to enter the workforce. However, some students plan on becoming nurses and physicians. “The addition of new certifications opens many more doors of opportunities for our students and propels them to high skills high-wage jobs and additional post secondary educational opportunities,” said Career and Technology Education Coordinator Mrs. Lynn Hernandez.
