Colonel Menchaca Early Childhood Center
Building A:
Overhead and in wall electrical continues in all buildings. Overhead and in wall plumbing work continues in Building F. Sheetrock top out in Area A West and B is completed. Interior CMU 99% complete in Area E and continues in C West, C and D. Work on masonry pilasters will continue through the end of May. Interior framing and gypsum board ceilings ongoing in Area A, A West and B. Painting has started in Area B, E and F. Fire sprinkler work is ongoing. Mechanical ductwork trunk line in Area F is being installed and branch lines are being installed in all areas. Ceramic tile installation ongoing in Area A and B. Ceiling tile install in Area A complete the first week in June. Resinous flooring in Kitchen was poured on Friday. Manpower on site is strong with approximately 125 to 130 workers. Contractor is prepared to begin accepting deliveries of Owner furnished equipment on July 30th. Architect and District representative did a site walk through with Principal Herrera, Mr. Romero and Mr. Herring on May 25th to answer questions about the campus. Meeting scheduled with District Staff on May 30th to coordinate finally keying.

The second pour on the Arts and Science Building was completed last week with another concrete pour scheduled in the next 5 to 7 days. The electrician continues working on rough in for each slab pour, the communication lines, and is preparing for power
change over as soon as school is out for summer. The plumber continues work on the rough in for each slab pour and the acid tank installation. Site utility work continues on both the storm sewer and sewer. Structural steel delivery will begin the week of May 28th.
PE and Athletics Building
Work on the PE and Athletics Building will commence once school is out for the Summer. Classrooms will be emptied and portable buildings removed to make way for new construction activities.
