Founder Kym Rapier of the The Blake, Kymberly and George Rapier Charitable Trust has selected Southside ISD to receive more than $1 million dollars from her charitable trust over the next three years. The 1 million dollar donation will go towards a new medical clinic that will be constructed on district property.
During an event in May of 2018, Ms. Rapier’s representative, Karina Villa, presented Southside ISD Superintendent of Schools Mark E. Eads with a check for $350,000. Villa announced Rapier will donate another $700,000 over the next two years. “This donation will help families in the Southside ISD, especially children,” Eads said.
He added, “We are thrilled and grateful to begin this partnership with Kym Rapier.” Ms. Rapier’s donation is the single-largest gift in the history of the Southside ISD. The new Kym Rapier Community Health Clinic is scheduled to open in January 2019 and serve the district’s 6,000 children.
