Hello Southside ISD Family,
We want to assure you that the staff and administration at Southside HS is working to ensure that our schools are operating normally this morning. You may have heard social media reports and rumors about an incident regarding a safety concern on Friday, February 23rd, the report was thoroughly investigated by multiple Police Agencies including the Southside ISD Police Department and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department and determined to be a NON-THREAT.
Unfortunately, rumors about this investigation have been distorted and have made their way to social media and have caused some parents and community members to be concerned.
To ensure our schools continue to offer a safe environment for our young people, Bexar County deputies will be on campus and in our schools as an added security measure.
You may have heard of social media reports over the weekend regarding the FBI investigating and incident at “SHS.” This report was in OHIO and not related to San Antonio’s Southside.
Parents, Southside ISD takes all safety and security matters very seriously and we want to assure you that the safety and concern of your children and our staff is of utmost importance to your school leaders.
Again, our Schools are operating normally today and we look forward to a great day of learning. Thank you for continuing to care about the safety, security and academic needs of our children.
