On Tuesday November 28, Southside ISD students participated in the 2nd Annual Spanish Spelling Bee at the Southside HS Auditorium. Elementary, Middle and High School students competed showcasing their bilingual skills.
1st Place Elementary School Winner – Damian Escajeda, 3rd grader at Freedom Elementary School
1st Place Middle School Winner – Marisol Romero, 6th grader at Losoya Intermediate School
1st Place High School Winner – Ines Hinostroza, 11th grader at Southside High School
Southside ISD is one of seven schools that took part in the challenge were more than 70 students participated.
Winners are now headed to the Region 20 Spanish Spelling Bee on Saturday February 3, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. This event will have three student categories: 3rd – 5th, 6th – 8th and 9th – 12th grade students.
