I am excited to tell you about a new partnership Southside ISD has with Be A Champion, Inc.
Be A Champion, Inc. will be providing afternoon meals for all student. All Elementary meals will be handed out every day ten minutes before dismissal. Because of this great opportunity we will be changing the start time for classes.
Heritage Elementary & Freedom Elementary will begin Wednesday, Nov 1 @ 7:30 a.m.
Gallardo Elementary & Pearce Primary will begin Tuesday, October 24 @ 7:30 a.m.
This will allow time for us to deliver the food. I have enjoyed each meal personally and they are pretty tasty. Below is more about the program. Southside ISD is proud to be able to offer this program to all of our students.
Be a Champion, Inc. was founded in 2001 (formerly as All-N-One) as a way of reaching out to under-privileged youth in the Houston area through sports, education, and through motivational speaking. BE A CHAMPION, INC. was started by two former offensive linemen for the University of Houston, Jaron Barganier and James Hong. Barganier and Hong both felt that athletes should be positive role models for young people and wanted to provide a program to help facilitate a way for athletes to give back.
