Letter from the Superintendent: Southside ISD Voters Approve $59.8M Bond

Team Southside ISD

I genuinely am excited about the opportunity for growth, the future of Southside ISD, and the impact of the passing of our 2017 Bond. There are many positive events that will benefit our community and District happening right now.

The impact of the May elections is substantial and our Southside community will benefit. The passing of the Alamo College Bond is expected to provide an even stronger partnership with them that will benefit our students and community directly. There has been confirmation of additional homes being built in Southside ISD over the next five years and beyond. HEB purchased land for a future site and the upcoming announcement of a major retail distribution center being built in Southside that will employ 1,500 individuals when at capacity. Within the past year the partnerships with our local colleges, universities, financial institutions, and churches has increased.

The trust that our voters have placed in us is tremendous. Being entrusted with this responsibility is and will be one of my greatest duties as an educator. I will only be able to accomplish this with your input and guidance.  Over the next few weeks and months many of you will be asked to provide your expertise in all facets of the educational process. From the most efficient buildings to clean and maintain, settings to maximize instruction, to the flow and serving of meals, and much more.

I would like to thank you in advance for your time and input in this process. Each and every one of you will be critical to the future success of Southside ISD.

I am so PROUD of our Team. You are all part of the New Journey for SISD and our community. May God continue to bless us.
