Southside Cardinals Currently Tied 2nd in District

The Cardinal boys basketball team began district play on January 13, 2017 after completing a very tough pre-season schedule which featured playing several of the top teams in San Antonio. The Cardinals are currently tied for 2nd place in district 29AAAAA with a 4-2 record with 4 games left to play. The Cardinals are lead by Senior team captain Robert Hernandez who is the teams leading scorer and rebounder along with 5 seniors who play a major role in the success of the team. Those seniors are Alex Regalado, Devin Morales, Joe Hernandez and Marty Lara. Other team members consist of Juniors (Jesse Hernandez, Larry Estrada and David Ybarra, Sophmore (Matthew Chavarria) and Freshman (Steven Quintero, Alex Hernandez, Alejandro Escamillia and Nick Hernandez.
